Error: Failed to Initiate Connection to OAuth

Overview

You are trying to connect to your Email or Calendar instance, but you are unable to do so, receiving the following error:

  • Failed to initiate connection to OAuth

Information

This problem indicates that the attempt to connect to your email or calendar could not be successfully initiated, because Playbooks failed to make the connection request to the correct service.

  1. To solve this problem, ensure that the Email Service Provider is appropriately selected and configured:
    1. Open the Playbooks Manager application as an admin or manager
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Go to Email
    4. Find the Email Service Provider section
    5. Select your Email Service Provider (for example, "Gmail") and optionally fill in any required details.
  2. If the issue persists, clear cache & cookies and Site Data in Chrome and attempt again to connect to your Email instance.

Additionally, you can check the Playbooks Status page to see if there is a service outage within the Emailing component of Playbooks.
