Merge field not appearing in drop-down

Overview

You are trying to use a merge field, but you cannot find it. The merge field is not appearing in the drop-down choices nor from the magnifying glass.

Solution

Ensure that the merge field was actually added or created successfully:

  1. Open the Playbooks Manager app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Go to Email
  4. Scroll down to Merge Fields
  5. Click Manage
  6. Look for the merge field that you want to use and make sure it is selected
  7. Click Save

You should now be able to add the merge field to an email template by clicking the merge field icon (which looks like two arrows forking).
