Overview
You may notice that emails that are sent via Playbooks are synced to Salesforce as a Message object and want to know if emails can be synced as a Task object instead (with Type = Email).
Information
It is not possible to sync emails as "Task" (or custom task) instead of "Messages". Playbooks only syncs the steps as tasks. You can change the type for them but not for emails. This mechanism is hard-coded into the application design.
The only configuration option available in Playbooks is to change the type of task, which can be done from Playbooks Manager Application > Settings > CRM > Salesforce Task Type Mappings.
